Guys, let me just say that you have nothing to be worried about. Time and time again I've seen one of two things happen,

1. Your bros will help you out on your wedding day, be it tying a tie or remembering that "thing that goes on your finger" during that really "important time" at that "thing" you are going to be at by 3pm.

2. Mum will still iron your shirts and pants. (Even if you're 32)

A "helluva lotta" dirty jokes, some whiskey that just blows your tastebuds and cigars all around.

And then you're getting married Buckaroo!

There's something to be said about your couples session on your wedding day. You might get some time to yourselves!

A little privacy please!

When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

The captain says, "Pack ye tissues. Thar may be a chance of rain."

Wedding day tip #547: Grab some tissues before you leave the house.

Possible showers…with a chance of smiles

There's little if any haze on the horizon, the sun is just about an hour away from diving into it's celestial slumber and for a photographer this is golden hour.

To quote Psalm 19:10, "More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."

This time of day makes a photographer's heart go pitter, patter, knees go weak and you could say it's just like falling in love.

And you can see why.

Erica and Ryan sharing that moment before a kiss
- Shot as assistant to Marcel Van der Horst of MV Photography.

Look down the hall, look across the room, heck, get on up and put the computer down.

I want you to sneak a peek at that love-of-you-life and I want you to remember those brief moments before you first kissed, that moment in-between that wonderful friend and all it came to be.

Now call them over, smile and say, "I love you."

...or heck, just pull them close, smile, and while you're got them that close...just let that magic happen.

Some people fall and some people fly and when it comes to the couples I meet, most are comfortable with being themselves but "AIN'T NO ONE GOT TIME" for modelling!

Raquel & Mario where spinning, trying to keep their eyes on the camera and then I made them walk into each other.

"Keep your eyes on each other, not me!" I said, which is pretty difficult when you have a photographer this 'ridiculously, ridiculously good looking.' (I may or may not have said that) but that little bump broke down those little walls we all build around ourselves when things get a 'little different.'

They laughed, we walked a little further and settled on a bench and here's what we have. A little fun, a lot of connection and a great photo of two wonderful people.

Your dress is spectacular, your flowers came from that house you two used to rent when you first moved in together, he's the brawn and you're the brains.

You're the reason he wants to be a better man and he sticks around because you made that "thing" with the "food" once and "She's pretty awright-ya-know?" (his words, not mine)...ANYWAY you formed the culinary key that unlocked the grand old wrought iron gate to his heart.

And here you both are, ready to take another big step beyond 'we've-just-sat-down-to-lunch-and-realised-we're-both-wearing-the-same-coloured-pants-and-tops!'

Oh, by the way, I know a good photographer. ;)
